FAQ's
Do the staff at Nature's Recipe use their own products?
- Yes we do! A lot of the products have been developed in
response to our own skin types and other therapeutic needs or
those of our friends and families. Only the products we like
the best make it into our range. Please call back often to
check for new products.
Are Nature's Recipe products tested on animals?
- No! They are, however, tested on we humans (a lot!!)
Can the goat's milk formulas be used on children with
eczema?
- We believe that the Kiddie
Kind Goat's Milk products are fine for children as we use only the mildest ingredients,
and each product is tested and approved by a chartered chemist
- but if you have any doubts, as with any of our products,
consult your doctor or dermatologist before use.
Are products made with dried goat's milk effective?
- We believe that even dried goat's milk retains some
of it's therapeutic properties. However, here at Nature's
Recipe we use only raw organic fresh goat's milk because all
it's powerful healing and moisturising abilities are kept
intact this way. Read about raw
organic goat's milk by clicking here.
Can you help with any skin problem?
- We wouldn't like to make this claim, because some conditions
certainly need medical attention. However, we do formulate
products to deal with many complaints. If you have a
specific problem you think we may be able to help you with, go
to our contact page and we will get back to you. We
pride ourselves on our honesty at Nature's Recipe - if we
think your request is beyond us we promise we will tell you. Click

Do you use organic ingredients for Nature's Recipe's
formulas?
- A large majority of our ingredients are certified organic or
are grown to organic standards. Sometimes it isn't
possible to source all organic products but our 'staple'
ingredients, such as goat's milk, lavender, emu oil and
rosehip oil are always organically produced.
Can I use Nature's Recipe products while I am pregnant?
- Products with Vitamin A and those with Myrrh should be
avoided during pregnancy. As for the other products, we
would recommend that you consult your doctor or gynaecologist
before using any therapeutic product from us, or anyone else.
Are Nature's Recipe's products hypoallergenic?
- We believe this is a strange claim for any product to make,
because there is no official medical definition for this
word. For sure, there are many substances that do not
commonly cause allergic reactions. Our ingredients are
chosen with this property in mind. However, there can
occasionally be an ingredient that causes a reaction in a tiny
minority of people. This applies even to products which
claim to be hypoallergenic. So far we have had no-one tell us
that they have had an allergic reaction to one of our
products. However, should this occur you should stop
using the product immediately.
The following extract was
taken from Wikipedia:-
"Hypoallergenic is a term coined by advertisers
(based on the Greek prefix hypo meaning "below
normal" or "slightly") and first used in a
cosmetics campaign in 1953. It
is used to describe especially cosmetics and textiles that
cause or are claimed to cause fewer allergic reactions.
Hypoallergenic pets still produce allergens, but because of
their coat type or absence of fur or absence of a gene that
produces a certain protein, typically produce fewer allergens
than others of the same species. People with severe allergies
and asthma may still be affected by a hypoallergenic pet.
Note that the term lacks a medical definition, but it is in
common usage and found in most standard English dictionaries.
In some countries, there are allergy interest groups that
provide manufacturers with a certification procedure including
tests that ensure a product is unlikely to cause an allergic
reaction, but such products are usually described and labelled
using other but similar terms. So far, public authorities in
no country provide an official certification that an item must
undergo before being described as hypoallergenic. The
cosmetic industry has been trying for years to establish an
industry standard for use of the term"
